Loan workouts Citigroup

Citigroup has just joined the ranks of mortgage lenders willing to work with borrowers to modify their loans, they will even take interest in assisting some of their homeowners who are not yet behind in their payments but who could be at sometime in the future. Today, Citigroup will induce a moratorium on most of their foreclosures in order to assess who they can help, other banks have already made this comittment, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo who have all made similar loan workout announcements, some starting as soon as Dec 1, 2008 but chiefly for delinquent loans. Other lenders are outlining plans to do similarly. The US Government is working on homeowner assistance as well and announcements are expected soon.
